Adam Cline, owner of Cline Livestock Co., brings over two decades of experience managing more than 250,000 acres of diverse rangeland across Northern California and Nevada. His work spans challenging terrains from the East Bay hills to the desert rangelands of Washoe County, where he has implemented NRCS conservation plans and holistic grazing strategies to meet both ecological and cattle production goals. Cline combines traditional methods—using horses and trained dogs—with modern tools like drones and ATVs for effective land and livestock management. He has developed numerous infrastructure improvements, including solar-powered water systems, miles of fencing, and cattle handling facilities, while also enhancing forage availability and habitat through perennial grass plantings. His most recent project includes a large-scale solar water and fencing system funded in part by an NRCS EQIP grant.

Precision grazing rooted in ecology, backed by certification
Cline has built a strong reputation as a skilled stockman and for developing management intensive grazing plans, using range monitoring tools like RDM measurements, photo points, and exclusion cages to customize strategies to each landowner's goals. His expertise in plant species identification and non-chemical weed control, particularly with invasive species like medusa head and yellow star thistle, supports his ecological focus.
Cline has managed cattle under multiple certification programs and has engaged with organizations such as NRCS, Cal CAN, and the California Rangeland Conversation Coalition. Clines ranches' are certified Bird-Friendly through the Audubon Conversation Ranching (ACR) program in partnership with the National Audubon Society.

Adam Cline is seeking rangeland in the Sacramento Valley foothills and irrigated properties in Southern Oregon and Northern California to graze brood cows or yearlings, with a focus on partnering with landowners to develop and achieve specific resource management goals. Drawing from his training in Holistic Management, Cline prefers managing cattle as a single herd rotated across pastures based on seasonal needs, promoting land health and productivity over continuous grazing.
Partnering for healthier land through holistic herd management

He has successfully addressed issues such as invasive weed control, fawning habitat creation, wildfire fuel reduction, and water quality improvement, tailoring his approach to each property's conditions. Even during the 2020–2021 drought, Cline maintained effective grazing without destocking by adapting water delivery and grazing schedules, preserving vegetation for ecological benefits. He also brings a strong network of cattle professionals to support operations and meet land management goals. Adam was recently recognized for his work by California Cattlemen's Association receiving the 2024 Cal-Pac Society for Range Management- Excellence in Range Management Award.
